TNHS General Alumni Homecoming, a day to remember

The Class ’85 of the Tabaco National High School again showed their stuff during the 5th General Alumni Homecoming celebration last April 16, 2006. The batch had the 2nd largest number of registered alumni numbering to 34 (behind only to Class’79 with 37), but there were 42 who actually attended the occasion.

The program started with a Thanksgiving Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Nick Bilono, (TNHS Class ’82) at the Tabaco City Terrace followed by a parade from the City terrace to TNHS grounds passing Panal.

Alumni from Class ’48 to Class ‘2006 participated in the parade, followed by the registration of participants by batches. The program started at around 11:00 AM at the main oval where all the participating batches gathered.

Having been back to the portal of our Alma mater again rekindles the fleeting four years stay in this institution, seeing again old friends are but happy moments, reminiscing all the antics we had in the past. Friends not only from our batch but also from other classes have an anecdote to tell from the day they entered to the day they exited from this campus.

After the repartee, lunch was served. We had “lechon”, steam lapulapu fish, lobster with gulay na langka, bikol express and inihaw ( Hehehe parang fiesta kaya masiramon so karakanan). A brief respite, then, a business meeting of the batch followed. Rick Gascon presented the financial statement from the previous occasion (2005 gathering) and Rey Bragais showed also the expenses incurred during this 2006 event, and it was agreed upon that the financial statement will be posted in our website. In addition, the Treasurer will open a bank account by June of this year, wherein the monthly dues will be deposited (Please watch out for that in our website).

Parlor games were played in the afternoon even on the scorching heat of the sun. This did not dampen our enthusiasm in participating in the games. We placed second in sack race game; first in naming of body parts, fortunately we had two doctors as our participants, Chris Alcala and Thielda Bruces – Canafe ( Kaya lamang tayo).

The program in the evening started around 7:30 PM at the City terrace, with ballroom dancing and induction of newly elected officers of the TNHS Alumni Association as the highlights of the evening program. Drinking buddies way back in high school Boy Marpuri, Genio Gonzales, and Sep Borondia together with Rey, Chris, Edwin Ilagan  and Vic Silva finished it off at the nearby Gloss & Glitters till wee hours of the morning.

Again acknowledgement and gratitude is given to the TNHS Alumni Association who organized the affair and all the members who attended and gave their individual effort for the success of this occasion.Sa masunod guiraray na pag hirilingan ta!
