A Bequest

Time flies so fast. We are here now at the departing line: you the juniors to stay, and we, the seniors, Batch 40, Class '85 of Tabaco National High School, to leave.

With the guidance and advice given to us by our beloved teachers, with the knowledge gained which can not be repaid, we do hereby distribute equally as possible the interest, skills and qualifications of our class to the succeeding juniors with the hope that our successors may, before departing, continue those we left unfinished.

After the fulfillment of our four-year struggle and happiness in this school, we hereby leave this last will and testament as follows:

The intelligent Gemma Pilagio and Luiety Bragais have decided to leave their mental capacities to Arvin de Jesus and Eva Rebancos so they may be models of intellect of the succeeding class.

The jovial Wendelino Buag, Joseph Benosa, Reynaldo Bagais, Luiety Bragais, Pedro Corral, Jessie-John Ma-alat and Renato Dionela leave their funny antics to Lourdes Benitdez, Ronald Benosa, Jude Froilan Quijano and Rey Cruz who believe that laughter is the best medicine. I just don't know, however, if it can cure the worst sickness which is the laziness of some students.

We leave the spirit of contradictions of the one and only Wendelino Buag whose opinions and final suggestions are enough to make the greatest lawyers out of Jude Froilan Quijano, Ronald Benosa, Rey Cruza and others with valiant spirits.

The romantics bounded to endless love - Norberto Bilian - Joobeth Bongares, Fransisco Rosagas - Adelaida Carido, Pedro Corral - Emelina Macasinang, Bernardo Villiar - Margarita Bocaoto, Renato Dionala - Rosa Loquinas, and Joel Bolano - Celerina Butial - leave their Romeo and Juliet lovestyle to Rolly Arias - Consuelo Viñas, Deo Serraño - Eva Rebancos, Benjamin Belarmino - Lourdes Benitez, Tito Bien - Leonila Barbacena, Marciano Rosario IV - Teresita Peña, Mario Boromeo - Lydia Beren, Graciano Bogñalos - Imelda Buen and Ronald Benosa - Francia Bilangel.

The mathematically-minded Luiety Bragais, Filipinas Reyes Gary Gaytano, Gemma Pelagio, Marchall Pacheco, Jurissa Silverio and Fidel Cao leave their remarkable enthusiasm to solve tear-producing problems and brain-ranking equations to Arvin de Jesus, Eva Revancos, Leonila Barbacena, Josephine Bilon, Cerilo Bolaoro and Boy Belarmino.

To the artists Ronaldo Buella and Romeo Bitanico we leave the ingenuity and artistry of David Bodota III, Thomas Edward Villamin and Enrico Garcia.

Those who used to go to school very early for the second or third period classes, Rhdora Barrameda, Margarita Bocaoto, Enrico Garcia, Narciso Buarao, Thomas Edward Villamin and Jessie John Ma-alat leave their newly repaired clocks that ring the alarm at midnight to Deo Serrano, Noel Bunao, Joe Alcantara, Judyrita Rebillon, Romeo Berlon, Tomas Colinares and Arvin de Jesus with the reminder that "To be late is to make an excuse slip as to make an excuse slip is to hear a "sermon."

To the soft-spoken and daydreaming Arlene Guiriba, Eduardo Bragais, Ronaldo Buella and Josephine Bilon we give the outlandish silent earnestness of Romeo Mores, Gary Gaytano, Mirian Cabiles, Mary Jean Villegas, Nancy Barcena and Ana Lisa Ortea so that they may always remember their geometry lessons, "deafs are silent, daydreamers are silent; therefore, daydreamers are deaf."

To those with the unquenchable athletic enthusiasm, Mario Brucer, Enrico Garcia, Higinio Gonzales, Edcel Vosotros and Joseph Benosa are willing to leave their buoyancy of athletic aces. This, in particular is given to Rodel Rocero, Glenn Dolz, Larry Lopez and Rey Cruza.

The group of MARCHALYN (Thes, Fely, Net, Beth, Del and Nor) leave their spirit of unity and friendship to the JOLOUBETH. They just hopes that the latter will always remember that friendship makes the world a better place to live in.

To the scientifically-minded Arvin de Jesus, Josephine Bilon, Eva Rebancos and Leonila Barbecena we leave the accuracy and precision of Marchall Pacheco, Fidel Cao, Gemma Pelagio and Luiety Bragais.

To those with the ability to make leaders while leading, we give the presidencies of Luiety Bragais, Gemma Pelagio, Teotimo Clemeña, Jr., Marchall Pacheco, Gary Gaytano, Amelia Dolosa and Christian Alcala. They hope that Arvin de Jesus, Josephine Bilon, May Jane Sy, Judyrita Rebillon, Teresita Peña and Jude Froilan Quijano will be more active than they were.

CAT-I Corps Commander Marchall Pacheco and his staff Reynaldo Bragais, Peter Allan Canafe, Pedro Corral, Gary Gaytano and Victor Camaya cede their military ranks and bearing to Arvin de Jesus, Rolly Arias, Benjamin Belarmino, Gerardo Calixto Colarina, Ronald Benosa and Jude Froilan Quijano that they may lead the school CAT-I Unit for more well-disciplined cadets and cadettes.

We leave the cheerfulness and friendliness of Ma. Theresa Balistoy, Filipinas Reyes, Janet Bodoso, Rosario Burce, Petter Allan Canafe, Max Cedric Bron and Ariel Bonganay to the one and only Lourdes Benitez. They hoped that she would stay as friendly as she is.

The poets, our Local Edgar Allan Poe's Francisco Rosagas, Norberto Bilan, Fidel Cao and Arnulfo Buban as Gerardo Calixto Colarina, Rolly Arias and Arvin de Jesus to keep their thoughts and pens well-oiled with practice.

The ability to catch the attention of even the most indifferent with the graceful poise and nimble movement of Joebeth Bongares, Adelaide Carido, Charina May Talavera, Cristina Panganiban, Malou Moran, Fe Cope and Mary Jean Villegas is left to Vina Marie Canicula, Cosulo Viña, Marife Bragais, Lorelei Bilono, Cielo Saba, Leornor Lagman and Asuncion Bunao. I am just curious to ask if their favorite music is "Catch Me."

To the aspiring prima donnas and balladeers, we leave the music of our nightingale Genara Taroy, Cecilia Bueno and Gene Maria Calingacion. Their music can soften the heart of even the wildest beast. Their golden voices are distributed to Vener Bongares, Gerardo Calixto Colarina, Helen Grace Obias, Job Belen, Ruth Claveria and Anita Bola.

We bequethed thrones and beauties of Margarita Bocaoto, Emelina Macasinag and Celerina Butial to the BB's (Beauty and Barains) of the Juniors Judyrita Rebillon, Vina Mari Canicula, Consuelo vinas, Arleen Sato, Helen Grace Obias and Ma. Cecilia Brobio.

To those who have the ability to do the body rock we leave the skills of Jonathan Brosula, Christian Alcala, David Bodota, and Enrico Garcia. They give their gyrations to Glen Dolz, Michael Maquinana, Edgardo Maravilla, Sandy Bragais, and Hector Basilla with the hope that they will only dance body rock not "body breaks" or "body cracks".

To the elves of the juniors, Victor Medina, Ronaldo Regalado, Alvin Vosotros, Aries Encisa, Alberto Bonaobra, and Eddie Monreal, we hand the heights of Mario Burcer, Ricardo Camasis, Dionisio Cam and Elbert Mendivel.

The bookworms Ma. Theresa Balistoy, Gemma Pelagio, Yvonne Reonal, Margarita bocaoto and Eva and norlita Borlagdan ask Josephine Bilon, Lorelei Bilono, Pilar Lumagbas and Eva Rebancos to inherit their novels and books but to keep their novels during classroom discussions and examinations.

The dramatic talents of our own Sharon Cuneta and Maricel Soriano, Ma. Theresa Balistoy and Adelaida Carido as well as of our local Dindo Fernando Peter Allan Canafe, Victor Camaya and David Bodota III are handed down to Heidebel Nuqui, Leonila Barbacena, Cyrel Basabe, Jude Froilan Quijano and Ronald Benosa.

Business-minded Edcel Bilon cedes his business endeavors to Arlene Guiriba, Carolina Apostol and Flordeliza miralo with the request that they will follow the business law "Pay first before you take."

I convince Fidel Cao to leave his "Tadeo-like" absences to any qualified applicant from III-Garnet. They should always remeber, though, that absences can make the brain weaker.

Pedro Corral, Elmer and Federico Gascon, Ma. Victoria Nocom and Christian Alcala leave their extra "fats and oils" to Leonila Barbacena, Marvi Canaya, Rosa Flores, Maricris Camu and Isagani Requintina.

The chess enthusiasts who prefer playing chess to doing their assignments - Peter Allan Canafe, Luiety Bragais, Joseph Benosa, Leorio Barasona and Ariel Bonganay - leave their abilities and "crazy devotions" which make them win without their kings to Victor Medina, Ronald Benosa, Cerilo Balaoro and Roy Belarmino.

To all the juniors we leave the usufruct of Tabaco National High School, the responsibilities as well as the privileges, the hardships and happiness, the tears and laughters, the do's and dont's that we followed, the losses and wins, with the fervent wish that they maintain and uphold the ideals and good name of TNHS.

To our Alma Mater, we give our innermost gratitude for imparting to us those precious moments which are unforgettable and joyful. We don't know how to define what we are feeling now but with the Plato-like statement, we say "We thank God we are born Filipinos and not Hindus, freemen not slaves, normal not abnormal and above all, that we are born to have a chance to be here, to be in this school, the Tabaco National High School.

Lastly, we nominate, recommend and appoint our most motherly principal, Miss Gloria B. Brondial; our untiring general advisers Miss Edna Brizuela and Mrs. Florentina Anzano; our guidance councilor, Mrs. Henrietta Carreon; our head of the Committee on Discipline, Mrs. Candida Enriquez and all senior class advisers to be the executor of this last will and testament.

In witness, whereof, on this momentous and memorable Junior-Senior Promenade, I now affix my signature for Class 1984-85 on this testament, this 15th day of February, in the Year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred eighty five at the Tabaco National High School, Tabaco Albay.
